BOISE, Idaho, April 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kretschmar® Premium Meats & Cheeses has made a donation of $1,000 to Make-A-Wish® Idaho. Joined by Albertsons and country music star Easton Corbin, Kretschmar made the donation at Corbin's tour stop at Revolution Concert House and Event Center this past Saturday as part of the brand's Legendary Wishes campaign, which helps Make-A-Wish grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Corbin, a No. 1 multi-award-winning hitmaker and Kretschmar brand ambassador, invited wish kid, 17-year-old Clay, backstage before his performance and helped Kretschmar present the donation to Make-A-Wish Idaho. Clay, who battled and conquered t-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, is a big country music fan and was thrilled to meet Corbin and enjoy the VIP concert experience.
"It was an honor to present Make-A-Wish Idaho with a check for $1,000 to help make more wishes come true for Clay and kids like him," said Corbin. "I'm proud to show my support for a cause I truly believe in, and to partner with a brand like Kretschmar Deli who is just as committed as I am to deliver hope and happiness for children who deserve it most."
"A wish is transformational. Not only to the wish children and their families, but to the numerous volunteers, donors, medical professionals, and community members who support it. There are few experiences more magical than making a child's heartfelt wish come true. We are incredibly grateful to Kretschmar Deli and Albertsons for supporting our mission and helping us grant wishes to Idaho children like Clay," said Sarah Baynes Shinn, Make-A-Wish Idaho Present and CEO.
"Make-A-Wish has positively impacted the lives of so many children and their families as they endure the challenges of life-threatening medical conditions," said Michael Baughman, Smithfield Foods director of marketing. "Together with the help from our friends at Albertsons, we can make strides in granting life-changing wishes for these children. We are privileged to have the opportunity to make these unforgettable experiences possible."
Since 2012, Kretschmar Deli has contributed more than $725,000 to Make-A-Wish nationally and has sponsored more than 15 wishes with local chapters through the brand's Legendary Wishes campaign. With the help of retail partners, the brand has raised more than $115,000 through sales of Make-A-Wish paper stars sold at stores' registers for $1 donations, employee donations, and sandwich fundraisers. The brand gives these funds to local Make-A-Wish chapters to continue to grant more wishes.
