Crete, Neb. (June 5, 2018) — Smithfield Foods, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Crete, Nebraska facility has contributed $9,000 to fund scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the surrounding area, including Crete, Dorchester, Wilber-Clatonia, Beatrice, and Meridian Public Schools.
“The financial support for education that Smithfield has provided our communities is invaluable. This assistance will help our youth reach their full potential with a path to post-secondary education,” said Mike Waters, superintendent, Crete Public Schools. “We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our next generation of leaders, and we are thankful for Smithfield’s contributions to encourage their success.”
